Could you say that young boy on the picture is one of the most celebrated and successful football athletes of his era? There was really huge amount of work and self control involved to reach this title, but everything is possible when you have vision. David Beckham had his vision, and through the years he realized it. Kid which was once rejected for a spot in the junior English league on account for being considered «too small» eventually became most famous English football player of all time. Everything started when one of the country's most celebrated teams, took an interest in him, and Beckham entered the legendary Manchester United club organization as a 14-year-old recruit in its development league in 1989.   • David Beckham was born at Whipps Cross University Hospital in Leytonstone, in London, England on May 2nd, 1975.
  • He is the son of David Edward Alan «Ted» Beckham, a kitchen fitter from London and wife Sandra Georgina West, a hairdresser.
  • As a child, he regularly played football in Ridgeway Park, Chingford, and attended Chase Lane Primary School and Chingford Foundation School.
  • Beckham played for a local youth team called the Ridgeway Rovers, coached by his father, Stuart Underwood and Steve Kirby.
  • By the age of eight, Beckham was scoring more than a hundred goals over three seasons for his team, Ridgeway Rovers of the Enfield District League.
